Welcome to Bods

BODS is a Sydney based social golf club that was started to enable a few mates to have an opportunity to catch up for a regular beer and a game of golf. We play at different courses each month and have events and formats that give everyone an opportunity to win. 

The club owes much of it's success and longevity to Scott (The Dog) Muir, who put in countless hours of his own time to get the idea off the ground and give it the momentum over the  last 22 years and counting. Scott was elected as a Life Member in December 2019.

Membership has surged in the last few years and as at 2026 we have 29 members.

Membership limit will be set at 32 for 2026 so there 3 spots available.

28 players are already financial for 2026.

19 April 2026-Brighton Lakes

 

BIG GARY MAC WINS MAIDEN BODS TITLE

A roll up of 17 for Brighton lakes  which is a tough course and only 2 players broke handicap.

Well done to Gary McSweeney who won on a countback with 37 points with 21 points for the last 9 holes.

He beat bods newcomer Nathan Barry who played under the watchful eye of the handicapper and the assistant to the assistant handicapper. 

Captain snooze-Jason Schweizer and Mick Smith both applied handbrakes again to not lose shots.

George el Amal won the chips again on a countback from The Dog who never seems to lose a countback.

Special welcome back to Andrew Price who last played with us in 2020 looking well and still playing good golf.

Some thought it was quiet today without Scotty McCulloch the good news for us he is back coaching footy and will be away to provbably trip away.Did you note the Hurstville mob all played well today.

It wasnt quiet in the clubhouse has to be the noisiuos clubhouse with lots happening.

Congrats to the match play winners we have 4 semi finalist that have not played in a final before so best of luck to all.Tyrone Ford now has a 3 wins and 16 losses record in Match play.

A big question is Where is Mini Slip?- Chris Smith supposedly injured and now no longer NO1 with Darren Cheney taking over as No 1.

We released 2027 and 2028 calendars with some new courses and regular favourites.

Also rsvp has gone out for BODS TOUR 10-11 October 2026 get the date on the fridge to stop the wives from double booking.Still to hear from last years tourists Bruce Sweeney, Gareth Mackinnon, Gary Jeffery and Brian McCulloch. Anyone else more than welcome to join us.

Well it finally happened after 14 months Chris Smith is no longer NO 1 . Darren Cheney is now NO1 but how long will he last as he is getting knee replacements soon. The challengers are closing in.
